Funny how what you set out for and what you end up with can be so different. When I was first designing this pattern, I was looking for a wood grain. I took sawed branches of different sizes and stamped it in the clay, but unfortunately, when you saw wood, there is no texture! I ended up with a bowl with flat disks. I then made 4 different stamps of different sizes in clay, where I carved linear textures. It no longer reads as wood, but I like it none the less!
